Written for Reena’s Xploration Challenge
where our inspiration is ‘changing seasons’.
I have taken inspiration from this paragraph and condensed it into a poem:
“The seasons shift like unspoken truths — summer’s blaze softens into autumn’s hush, winter’s silence yields to spring’s renewal. In each turn, the human heart mirrors the cycle: burning with desire, retreating into reflection, and blossoming again with fragile hope.“

Summer burns what spring began,
desire bright as afternoon ….
then autumn lays its amber hand
across a fevered tune.
Winter comes with hollow grace,
a silence deep as thought,
where our hearts, turned inward, trace
all that fire wrought.
But nothing stills for long; it sings
of growth, a fragile green ….
of hope, stubborn, ancient things,
risen and unseen.
So we turn, as seasons turn,
unspoken, true, and slow ….
always burning, always learning
how to let things go.

I really enjoyed your poem and how you weaved the changing seasons like parts of our lives do, Nancy! The last two lines are excellent….
“always burning, always learning
how to let things go.“
Excellent song to go with it, too!

Your musical choice is perfection to follow this wonderful poem. I love this- where our hearts, turned inward, trace
all that fire wrought.

A beautiful interpretation of the theme ‘changing seasons.’ It thoughtfully captures the natural rhythms of life, reminding us that every season brings its own beauty, lessons, and opportunities for growth.

Every good turn deserves a return (a great song from the Byrds)…
New Horizons (Dec 2021)
The calm whispering sky
Becomes the morning’s warm footbath
While doggie paws wander on the winding path
Dawn’s old cogs begin grinding
Rusty axles are slowly turning
Daytime wheels start rolling
Time never stops revolving
New seasons always keep evolving
And summertime lights up new horizons
