Written for Val’s Haiku Scavenger Hunt
#8 where we’re asked to write a Kelly Lune.
Inspiration from image at Senryu Sunday.

music rises up
city air
man and dog walk by
bright green brownstone doors
city flair
vivid and alive
birds singing in trees
city fair
autumn in new york

You’ve stumped me again, a “Kelly Lune”
Oh, this is enough to send me to the moon!
I won’t try one tonight; this old poet
is about to blow it and retire it …
Anyhow, it’s springtime over here
Beneath spring sunshine,
a dragonfly carried hope
from sky into song.
