Nancy’s Notes: Wombats are short-legged, muscular marsupials native to Australia. They are the world’s largest burrowing mammals and are closely related to koalas and kangaroos. This specific individual is Patrick, a famous bare-nosed wombat who lived at the Ballarat Wildlife Park in Victoria, Australia, and was renowned for his unusually large size and gentle nature.
