Into The Haze

Our gracious host, Rochelle, is asking us to get
creative in 100 words or less using the photo
seen below. This is Friday Fictioneers.

The morning fog clung to my brain like thick wool, heavy and suffocating. I stumbled through the lush, overgrown vegetation, searching for a path that made sense, but every direction seemed identical.

To the left, the air felt cold and unwelcoming. To the right, a strange warm breeze pulled at my sleeves. Stepping backward only brought a disorienting wave of vertigo, while pushing forward promised a journey into the absurd, surreal unknown.

I spun in a slow, dizzying circle as logic quietly dissolved around me. Taking a deep, steadying breath, I closed my eyes and stepped blindly into the haze.
