Written for dVerse MTB: Poems of Questions
hosted by Grace. The challenge is to write a
poem built around questions that remain
unanswered. Here is my response.

Who tied the ribbon …. steady hands or shaking?
What season pressed that rose until it dried?
Which words were read so often they stopped meaning,
and which were folded shut, left still inside?
Did someone wait by windows for an answer?
Do coins remember what they once were worth?
And does the one who kept these know we’re wondering
or did they take the questions back to earth?

This is “Human” by The Killers
Everything on The Elephant’s Trunk was created by me, unless otherwise indicated. If there’s something you would like to use, ask me; if I think it’s appropriate, I will usually agree. Thanks for your consideration. NAR©2017-present.

Nicely done Nancy 👏
I too, like the lines about words losing meaning, recalling the feeling when that happens.

Love the questions specially this one: Which words were read so often they stopped meaning,
and which were folded shut, left still inside?
Thanks for joining in.
