Silver Bird

Written for dVerse Quadrille – “Ho-hum,
it’s time to Poem”. Our host, De Jackson,
asks us to write a 44-word quadrille
using forms of the word “hum”.

Four hummingbirds hover, a beautiful view,
While humble wild fuchsias are covered in dew.
No human could copy this wonderful sound,
Of tiny thumping wings fluttering around.
These silvery humdingers drum fast as they fly,
While Engelbert Humperdinck songs float to the sky.
