Our gracious host, Rochelle, is asking us to get
creative in 100 words or less using the photo
seen below. This is Friday Fictioneers.

Four mimosas. Maybe five…. tops. What the hell was I thinking?
Okay, why is the boardwalk doing that wobbly thing? Someone really should call the city.
Sharon’s brilliant idea…. “let’s split a pitcher”…. like that was ever a reasonable sentence.
Ooh, looks like I lost a shoe. When did that happen?
That seagull is judging me. I feel its beady eyes.
Where the hell’s a bathroom when you need one?
Stupid jogger asking me “you good?” Do I look good, buddy? I’m doing advanced calculus just to walk in a straight line.
Wait a minute! Why don’t I just swim home!

You’re most welcome, Nancy 😊
I was the 70s and 80s…my babies happened early 90s. But yes, a few events spring to mind but there wasn’t a seagull, judgy or otherwise, in sight! 😉

There’s always a seagull, Fleur, in some manifestation or other, ready to point the finger. 🫵🏼 We just choose not to dwell on the bastards! 😂

💯! Actually I need to correct my comment…my tipsy memories are from the 80s! I was still in school in the 70s. Yikes!

Yep, that all sounds familiar to me from the 80s! I’m older and have no desire to return to those days, lol. I chuckled and nodded as I read this. That seagull knows more than he/she lets on! Ditch the shoes but don’t swim home; that won’t end well!

For me it was the 70s; by the 80’s, I had two babies and didn’t do any partying for the next 18 years lol! Thanks for your great comments, Fleur; you gave me a chuckle this morning. 😀

And that, Cindy, is where mermaids come from and why you may not have a sip of Mommy’s wine.

This was humorously done, I remember those days. Let’s hope she’s sensible enough not to swim or someone stops her. Great writing, and that seagull probably is judging her.

Hopefully she forgot about swimming the moment those words left her mouth. Of course, I agree completely about the seagull. Thanks very much!

Oh no…. swimming home is not going to end well.
Great descriptions throughout!

Her altered attention span being what it is, I doubt she’ll follow through on her terrible swimming idea! Thanks Laurie.

Dear Nancy,
Hopefully someone will stop her from swimming home. Doesn’t sound like a viable option. And oooh, the hangover in the making. Good one.
Shalom,
Rochelle

Hopefully, this will be a learning experience for my MC …. if she even remembers this day! Either way, she’ll have a doozy of a headache, for sure.
Thanks much, Rochelle.

Oh, no, that last line is terrifying. Don’t do it! I had a chuckle with this one especially the “I’m doing advanced calculus just to walk in a straight line.” I don’t drink much anymore because I have a hard enough time walking as is (haha). Great story for summer.

I don’t drink much at all but I do remember making some stupid choices while under the influence. I think my MC will regret her actions from this afternoon …. if she even remembers them! Thanks for a great comment, Brenda.

All that alcohol heightened your awareness and made you paranoiad when you saw that seagull and its beady eyes.

That’s definitely true, but seagulls are an untrustworthy lot. I never met one I liked!

Perhaps the relatability or maybe the glee we feel over it not being us. Both resonate with me. Thanks, Neil.
