Our gracious host, Rochelle, is asking us to get
creative in 100 words or less using the photo
seen below. Welcome to Friday Fictioneers.

“You’re on with the Night Owl. Caller, are you there?”
“Long time, Chief.”
“…Fred Waldron? Is that you?”
“Bet you’re surprised to hear from me. All those years you and the guys used my deformity for sport. Then you stole Maggie from me, too.”
“Fred, I’m sorry, man. Really.”
“Save it. Cancer’s finishing me faster than your words ever could, so I paid your house a visit tonight.”
“What did you do?”
“Sweet Maggie. She screamed beautifully, Chief. Best work I’ve ever done. I’m hanging up now; one bullet left, and it’s mine. Go home, see what’s left of her.”

Dear Nancy,
“Play Misty for me” 😉 That was a horrifying story, well told. Perfect song to accompany.

For me the creepiest part of “Play Misty for Me” is that it’s my husband’s and my song. We had it sung at our wedding and our 50th anniversary celebration. 😉 I still love the song.

This would be totally creepy if I didn’t fine it so humorous, nice story Nancy.

You’re the only one who finds this humorous, Jim. I guess you really are unique.

Cancer should not be humorous, but some people can make anything funny.

He’s making fun of his situation, not other people, so I admire his attitude. I doubt I could act similarly.
