In Stitches

Written for Writing Prompt #123
using the prompt word ‘rich’.

Image by Me & Gemini

Mister Jones in his manor, so rich,
Found his gardener stuck in a ditch.
He pulled with great might,
Gave his trousers a fright ….
And tore every seam at the stitch!

  1. Ha! The title pays off perfectly “In Stitches” for both the torn seam AND the reader. Poor Mister Jones, all that wealth and still no match for a stubborn ditch. That image of the trousers getting “a fright” before giving out completely is such a fun bit of timing. And “Garden Party” as the pairing? Chef’s kiss. A limerick that earns its punchline. 😄
