RDP Tuesday: portrait

Written for RDP, where Martha asks us
to get creative with the word “portrait”.
Thanks, Martha! Here’s where the prompt took me.

Lucian was desperate to possess Marielle but she rebuffed him at every turn, saying she would never be his. Never!

He commissioned a portrait of his obsession, but eventually he tired of it, knowing he could never rest until Marielle was his, body and soul.

Finally, Lucian’s demons took over and he completely lost his mind. Now Marielle lies encased in glass in Lucien’s attic, her beauty preserved forever.

    1. I remember in the movie, Dr. Zhivago, there was a scene where young Yuri’s mother was being buried. Whether the casket was glass or just made to look that way, we could see his mother laying inside. The movie went completely silent for that scene and it was very eerie. Thanks, Jim.
