Written for Melissa’s Fandango Flash Fiction
Challenge using the image shown below for our
inspiration. Here’s where the image took me.

The cat throws wide his yawning, pink complaint,
while city streets below still sleep in grey.
A cold cup waits …. no one has time today.
The world outside looks bleary, small, and faint.
While city streets below still sleep in grey,
the cat throws wide his yawning, pink complaint.

Nancy’s Notes: A biolet is a six line poem in which the first two lines are repeated as the last two lines, however in reverse. The rhyme scheme can be expressed as ABbaBA (with the capital letters representing the repeated lines).

Excellent! I love the line about the cat throwing “his yawning, pink complaint.” So creative.

Thank you, Melissa. I felt I needed a descriptive word in that line and “pink” was a last minute thought when “scratchy”and “loud” just didn’t cut it! 😂 I’m really glad it worked for you. Thanks for a fun challenge.
