Stepping into the charred remains of the synagogue, tears welled up in the rabbi’s eyes. The once vibrant house of worship now lay in ruin. But amid the destruction, a glimmer of hope shone through. Slowly, he lifted his gaze up to the rafters; there, intricate patterns and symbols still adorned the walls and ceiling. The beauty of the interior, though scarred by the flames, stirred something deep within him. It was a reminder of resilience and faith, a testament to the enduring spirit of the community. And in that moment, the rabbi found solace and strength. He would rebuild.

      1. Not a fire, it was a shooting. Two dead and several badly wounded. Very worrying. The gun man was also dead. I wasn’t sure I would be able to write about a synagogue. Hence I wrote something funny (ish).
