Our gracious host, Rochelle, encourages us
to be creative by writing a story in 100 words
or less using the photo prompt below. This is
Friday Fictioneers. Here’s where the photo took me.

Stepping into the charred remains of the synagogue, tears welled up in the rabbi’s eyes. The once vibrant house of worship now lay in ruin. But amid the destruction, a glimmer of hope shone through. Slowly, he lifted his gaze up to the rafters; there, intricate patterns and symbols still adorned the walls and ceiling. The beauty of the interior, though scarred by the flames, stirred something deep within him. It was a reminder of resilience and faith, a testament to the enduring spirit of the community. And in that moment, the rabbi found solace and strength. He would rebuild.

Nicely written, Nancy. Also LC and the songs from Ivor, thanks for those, especially what happened last week in Manchester, UK.

It’s a heartbreaking situation, Chris, and I’m sure the fire in Manchester was in my subconscious when I wrote this.
Thanks for your very gracious comments.

Not a fire, it was a shooting. Two dead and several badly wounded. Very worrying. The gun man was also dead. I wasn’t sure I would be able to write about a synagogue. Hence I wrote something funny (ish).
