  1. The story behind “Something” was that they needed something they could sell because they needed money and Paul was too busy trying to turn “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer” into a hit. John felt it was a beautiful song, and for John to pay George that kind of a compliment really meant a lot.

  4. I love both of these songs, Nancy, and consider them standouts on “Abbey Road.” In addition, “Something” has one of the best basslines by Paul McCartney. Many moons ago, my guitar teacher taught me a great acoustic/classical guitar arrangement of “Here Comes the Sun” he came up with. Unfortunately, I think I forgot most of it. It’s probably my favorite George Harrison song he recorded with The Beatles.
