What’s going on with WordPress now? Anyone else unable to comment directly on someone’s site? I can only comment via Reader. What the hell?
I don’t have that one…but can I ask you one Nancy? I have had a ticket in for 2 months for this. You know when someone likes or comment on your blog? The little bell in the browser in the upper right hand side…mine doesn’t do a thing. I have to manually refresh my browser to get any alert on my computer. It used to do it automatically.

That’s crazy, Max! I’ve never heard that one before but it doesn’t surprise me. I assume you’re getting your notifications without any trouble. I’d ask WP customer service; there’s probably a very easy fix, like clicking a box on your notification settings in your dashboard. By now I know their customer support email address by heart; it’s help@wordpress.com. Good luck!

The only way I can get notifications is if I manually refresh my browser. In other words…your comment…it did not just pop in my paine on the right. I have to manully refresh…I usually chat with them.
So your notifications are working fine? They automatically pop up?

Sorry Nancy for two comments. Have you tried to use a different browser? If it does it in a different browser as well…it’s probably your account….if it works in the other browser…its probably the original browser.

I just got a comment from Jim Adams. He contacted WP customer service and was told they are aware of the problem and are working on it. I already knew it wasn’t a problem with my account but it’s always nice to be told for sure. Thanks, Max.

WordPress depends on AI. They will censor your post if it contains certain trigger words like M….r and such, it’s happened to me. I have that posting problem ever so often, it comes and goes. WP is getting as bad as FaceBook.

I really can’t stand Facebook and the only reason I haven’t deleted my account is because my family uses it.

Murder Hornets. I had to paste and copy the story to Grammarly, delete the original story and then repost it to keep from getting arrested. Two of those descriptions fit, sometimes.

We all have problems with something. We’d have fewer problems if WP didn’t keep making unnecessary changes.

I’ve had to juggle my comments for a while as with some I have to keep ‘signing in. I go through my reader though as I use a laptop, so probably not experiencing as much inconvenience as a lot of bloggers.

Yes, on that end I’m thankful for my laptop also. I just discovered the problem this AM while some people are telling me it’s been going on for them for a while. That is most unfortunate. Thanks for the update, Di.

Hahaha! This is true about fixing itself (usually) only to be replaced by the problem flavor of the week. It may have already been resolved. I wasn’t sure if it was a ME issue or a WE issue. Thanks, Sis!

I was really worried this morning when my comment disappeared. I contacted jetpack and it looks like they have fixed it now. It was a real panic moment, though.

Same here, except it’s been on with mine for many months. So annoying, since I mostly use email instead of reader. I still don’t get notices on that very often, so miss out on a lot.

It’s been so long ago I can’t remember. I probably did, but I never get any help, just a bunch of information I don’t understand. I gave up on them a long time ago.

Can’t say that I blame you. If you’re interested, they have a new system these days. You get an automated response to your inquiry so the answers are specific to the questions you ask. You don’t receive an email from a Happiness Engineer unless the automated response didn’t work and you need more help. I was annoyed the first time I got an automated response but my attitude immediately changed when I realized how helpful the info really was! If you need their customer service email, it’s help@wordpress.com. Good luck!

I just heard back from the Happiness Engineer and he said, “Hi there! I understand your concerns about the comment section, thank you for bringing it up.
There’s a known bug affecting this at the moment, and our team is already on it. They’ve identified the issue and are actively working on a fix, which should be deployed soon.
We appreciate your patience, and I’ll be here if you have any other questions in the meantime.”

Yes, and mine is one of them! I have no idea what it is, but it is only affecting some theme styles. I hope this doesn’t mean we are going to have to create new themes, because I sincerely do not know if I am up to that.
