That certainly is devastation! 😟 So much can be said in one line. Well done, Nancy. 👍🏻 My cousin and I passed cotton fields today. I will never tire of that sight.

I used to teach Sunday school and I thoroughly enjoyed swatting up on the stories to get my facts straight before Sunday arrived!

New term for me, swatting up. I had an idea what it meant from the rest of your sentence but I looked it up anyway. I also taught Sunday School, the very young children. The little ones are always so in awe of their Bible stories! 😊

You may have noticed I spelt swotting wrong. I only noticed just now, I must have had fly swatting in my head! 🪰🪰🪰

I’m sorry for the earlier joke. The plague reminded me of the Ten Plagues of Egypt, especially the governor’s mention. Thank you for sharing this with our One Day prompt, Nancy. 🙂

Sue, I just got back home from some errands and I didn’t even see your earlier comment. No need to apologize; I thought the same think about the plagues in Egypt. I remember learning about them in Sunday School and then watching the Ten Commandments movie really brought it home. Just the thought of plagues of insects gets my skin crawling! 🪲
I enjoy these prompts very much and this week’s one day worked exceptionally well with my mini-story., I think Thanks, Sue!

Very relatable, Nancy … in Wimmera region, north-west from here, the farmer’s crops are prone to devastation by masses of locust … and then once every decade they’ll be hit by a horrifying mice plague ….
