As I sit here in my recliner looking out my bedroom window, wondering where Christmas has gone, I ask myself if I should venture out for my walk.
“It’s a bleak-looking day and awfully chilly. Stay inside where it’s warm and comfy.”
But then I remember that my wonky knee could use the exercise and time is fleeting. In just 83 days the beautiful blushing bride of nature will arrive and winter will be nothing but a distant memory.

Oh I hope 83 days will do it up here.

I hope so, too, Gary …. but who’s counting?!

It does feel like we are turning the corner. By mid to late February we begin to see the new buds on the trees.

Not up here in NY. Mid-late February we’re still in a deep freeze. 🥶
I don’t like February; it’s the shortest month but to me it feels like the longest!

I lived in Virginia many years and have not so fond memories of February.

Going out midday for a group hike near a winding creek. Tempting to stay home, but after 3 days of off & on rain, we may get some sun! And my aching back & stiff legs say it’s time to move it move it!

I hear ya, Liz! My back and legs are singing the same tune. I may head out if the sun makes an appearance but right now it’s looking bleak.

The forecast for SW England is rain, rain and more rain. Thanks a bunch!

It’s raining here, too, Glyn …. my excuse for staying inside!

Why, thank you for this!
Of course, this week it is in the mid 40s, green grass, and Vermont smells like spring. In just eight weeks, we will be in the first month of spring!

Of course that’s the way always turns out!
It’s very dismal looking here and warmer than
usual for late December. There’s a constant mist
and I should go for a walk but my joints are barking! 😖

In the words of Passenger:
“Well, you only need the light when it’s burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go”
You should venture out in my opinion and enjoy the chill 😊

Thanks for introducing me to Passenger, Sanjeet and
I’ll take your opinion under advisement. However, I am not
a chilly weather person so chances are good that I will stay inside
where it’s warm and cozy … at least for today and possibly tomorrow! 😌

Here in Geelong, we have just experience the wettest Christmas on record, but I still managed to take Frankie for a walk …

Sorry to hear about the bad weather you had during Christmas.
My sons have dogs and knowing those cute little guys the way I do
(the dogs, not my sons) there’s no chance they will let anyone get away
with missing their walks …. no matter what the weather is like!
They certainly do make great exercise buddies!

While you’re waiting for spring and summer to arrive, we already have a spring like weather 🤩

I wouldn’t exactly call it “waiting”; it’s more like “existing”.
Clearly, I’m not a cold weather person …. and the really cold season in New York hasn’t even arrived yet! January and February will be very long months!

I know! I visited New York in February end in 2018.

While others still have their hands full curing the hangover, you are already active again and full of enthusiasm. Forget your knee, your genes make up for it all. 🙂

Active, yes. Full of enthusiasm? That’s debatable! 😂
I am not a big drinker and the thought of a hangover is just awful!
Today is a day of rest for me but tomorrow I’ll be back in the trenches!

Same for me. And I am not the hangover guy either. Losing time with negative stuff is an annoying feeling. Cheers anyway 🍷
