Written for Tanka Tuesday. Our host,
Melissa, challenges us to write an
Alouette, French for “skylark”.

Up into the sky,
see the skylark fly,
singing a bright morning song.
High above the trees,
floating on the breeze,
where the golden day is long.
Hidden in the blue,
washed in silver dew,
calling the world to awake.
Sweet and clear and loud,
lost within a cloud,
music for the morning’s sake.
