seen below. This is Friday Fictioneers.

The flashlight beam trembled against the concrete pillar, illuminating the fresh handprints. Deputy Clarice Johnson tracked the drag marks through the mud, her heart hammering a frantic rhythm against her ribs. She had heard the desperate, choked screams echoing beneath the underpass. Someone had fought violently here, kicking wildly and flinging mud up against the low beams as they were hauled toward the black water. Then, a heavy splash, followed by an agonizing, suffocating silence. Deputy Johnson looked down at the river’s edge. A pale, muddy hand breached the surface, fingers clawing frantically for the shore before sinking back under.
