Written for MLMM Monday Wordle;
Di’s prompt words are shown here:
must, wake, shake, make, shock, smile,
brave, walk, plan, hands, pants, sad

We’d wake at dawn with one big plan,
To shake off sleep and make a stand:
A treehouse built of borrowed boards,
Two captains armed with cardboard swords.
You’d walk ahead, so bold, so brave,
In grass-stained pants, with a crooked wave,
And when I fell, your hands found mine;
You flashed a smile: “Hey, you’re fine.”
The shock of that first goodbye was sad,
The moving van took all we had.
But some things last, as true things must:
A friendship built on childhood trust.
