Written for Living Poetry. Bart asks
us to write a poem incorporating the
titles of six books he has chosen.

I meant to write a sonnet, but I couldn’t find the hook,
So I sat down to Carve the Runes in the margin of a book.
My muse was unimpressed with me, she said, “For Instance, try
Not staring at the ceiling while Mr. Linky slinks on by.”
I tried to strum some wisdom up, but went Harping On for hours,
About the meaning of it all, the fate of ancient towers.
My fortune, though, was never held In the Palm of Your Hand ….
It scattered like the crumbs I left in some forgotten land.
So now I’m done Seeking the Hook, I’ll serve you what I’ve got:
Three half-baked stanzas, slightly burned, delivered piping hot.
At the Teahouse of the Almighty we’ll sit and drink a while
If not my poems at least the tea will give you cause to smile.

Dream on dear poet …
There Are No ‘Cents’ in Pretense
None of it needs to make sense
no matter present tense
or past tense
Your quill has a license
to jump the pretense fence –
forget about commonsense
And write any sort of nonsense
in future tense
with imaginative effulgence

Well, this took my breath away, my dear friend. Your poem is utterly gorgeous, and being accompanied by the Maestro elevates it to the heavens. This is an incredible song and video, making for the perfect package this morning. Simply divine. Thank you! 🎶📝🥰💙

Lovely! So close to a sonnet. Maybe a book from your shelves can inspire a final couplet. Thank for writing to biblio prompt.
