why ~ angry ~ if ~ final ~ love ~ none ~ dream

Once there were three little doves,
who lived in a haven of leaves,
they cooed all day in gentle peace,
with hearts that did not grieve.

But one dove had thoughts that troubled her so,
and she asked her sisters, “Why
must winter come if spring must go?”
and she heaved a little sigh.

The second dove was none too pleased,
“Don’t be so angry, dear,
for worry never eased a heart,
nor chased away a fear.”

The third dove sang a final song
before the stars came out,
“With love enough to last the night,
we’ll never have a doubt.”

So off to dream the three doves flew,
snug in their leafy nest,
and all the woodland birds agreed:
their haven was the best.
