everyone else wilts
waiting for the sun to show ….
not this stubborn bloom

storm-gray skies press down ….
aloe spears hold their small fires,
unwilling to dim

  1. I like the image of the aloe spears holding fire and there’s nothing wrong with being a stubborn bloom- I think I’ve been accused of that a few times…

  2. Such a hardy flower my friend … and a very apt song …
    A Haiku for you …
    “I watch the day age
    Even the red cactus wilts
    As the sun arcs high”
