Written for dVerse Poet’s Pub – Unpunctuated,
where our host, Melissa, asks us to write a poem
sans punctuation. Here’s where the prompt took me.

la luna does not ask permission
she simply
arrives
cold and unbothered above the treeline
while somewhere il lupo lifts his head
and BARKS
knowing
the way light can be a kind of sound
