RDP Wednesday: foliage

Written for RDP, where segoil asks us
to get creative with the word “foliage”.
Thanks, Heather! Here’s where the prompt took me.

The weather here in our part of New York State (Southern Westchester County) has been most favorable, with new growth every day.

We discovered a family of groundhogs happily chomping on the new foliage in our backyard. This photo shows one of the groundhog babies we call George. There’s one more baby groundhog who was not available for yesterday’s photo shoot; her name is Gracie.

Caught here mid-nap is baby deer Deirdra.

Yes, we get attached to our backyard guests!

  1. George and Gracie–so cute! The most wild we get is the owls and hawks that frequent the trees across the street. Once we had a fox in the woods. Made the front page of the local paper!
