Written for Tanka Tuesday where Colleen
asks us to write a syllabic poem, using things
that are yellow. This is my shadorma.

daffodil
dawn breaks on wet streets…
slicker cabs
blur on by,
sunshine bud pushes through the
cracked sidewalk and blooms

Nancy’s Notes: Originally from Spain, shadorma is a short, unrhymed six-line poem(a sestet) characterized by a strict 3/5/3/3/7/5 syllable structure.
