Here’s where the image took me.

“George, where the devil are we?”
“Precisely where I intended to be, Martha.”
“You’ve been saying that for an hour. We’re going in circles.”
“I am navigating by the current. It’s called seamanship.”
“It’s called being lost, George.”
“I am never lost. I am … reconnoitering.”
“When you invited me out for a seafood dinner, George, I didn’t think I’d have to catch my own meal.”
“And yet here you sit, doing precisely that, while bellowing like a water buffalo in heat.”
“Oh stuff it, George! You haven’t caught a thing!”
“The fish simply require patience, Martha …. something you’ve never possessed in abundance.”
“This is mind-numbing; not even a nibble!”
“I got a nibble.”
“That was a reed, you fool!”
“It was a very aggressive reed, I’ll have you know, woman!”
“I want to go home, George.”
“Nonsense! Carpe diem, Martha! If you really want to go home, I suggest you start swimming.”
“Oh shut up!“

Love this conversation. It has me giggling, especially the line about an aggressive reed! I can so get with that 🥰🥰🥰

Divorce was invented for couples like George and Martha, but I suspect they won’t go for that because they actually enjoy the constant squabbling.

Never! They are blissfully happy in their marital dysfunction. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Iris.

I’m afraid you’re right. As our friend Ivor so cleverly put it, “a bag of wind doesn’t catch fish”!

Hahaha! If I had heard that quote before writing my story, I would have definitely included it! What a great comment. 😂 Thank you, my dear friend. Another fab Beluga Lagoon tune. 🎶💙
