On The Road Again

Look who’s driving!

That’s right, kids! I’m back in the driver seat!

I met with the surgeon yesterday; he was very pleased with my progress and gave me the OK to start driving again. I am thrilled to have my independence back, but most importantly, to be on the road to a full recovery. As a bonus,Bill now can enjoy a well-deserved break from being my chauffeur!

It’s a great relief to see how improved I am since just last week, but I need to remember, I am still rehabilitating. Another follow-up with the surgeon is scheduled for six weeks from now and I will continue with physical therapy until then.

This is a huge step for me! Thank you, my WordPress family, for your encouragement and very good wishes all these months.

Love from Nancy

  1. Woo-hoo! Hooray for you! ♥️

My husband had to be my chauffeur back in January when I was in a neck brace after having fractured my skull and my spine. It was only a few weeks, but seemed much longer. When I was finally able to drive again I was halfway afraid that I had forgotten how!

    1. Oh, Blue! I had no idea you had injured yourself so badly! I am so sorry to hear that; it must have been a horrible time for you. It’s great to know you are feeling better and able to drive again. When I sat behind the wheel this morning, my husband asked me if I was nervous about driving. I said “No way! If anyone should be nervous, it’s the other drivers!” 😂 Thanks for your great comments. Here’s to our very good health, my friend! ❤️

  2. Stay well, keep improving, but don’t overdo it my dear friend … oh, some of the lyrics to this outstanding song …
    “A plunge, a dive
    I gamble fate
    Abandon control, obey gravity
From here, earth’s claw cannot over bare

I hear nothing, dead silence I grasp as comfort
I pilot limbs as if they were wings
    Carve through the clouds
    Plummet to the below
    I pilot limbs

    I gamble fate”
