First Impressions

Written for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt
where she asks us to get creative in exactly 93 words
using the prompt word ‘persuasion’. Also for Sue & Gerry’s

Weekly Prompts Colour Challenge – “blush”, and two prompts
from Fandango’s FOWC – “introduce” and “basics”.
Here’s where the prompts took me.

Rachel had attended dozens of corporate mixers, but this one required something new: introduce yourself using only a compliment.

She rehearsed the basics in the elevator. Confident. Breezy. Not weird.

Then the doors opened directly onto him … warm eyes, crooked grin, holding two glasses of champagne like he’d been expecting her.

“You look like someone worth talking to,” he said.

Rachel felt the warm blush rising up from her neck and she lost the ability to form words.

So much for breezy. But as first attempts at persuasion went, his was flawless.

  1. That’s really so sweet 👍☺️ It’s a nice short story, and the picture tells everything, such as her blushing 😊

    Maybe she feels flattered?

      1. You are most welcome ☺️

Yeah, you’re right. Being specific is very important if we expect a thing we make to be right, such as images and everything else. Also, it indeed takes many tries until we get the desired results, so we have to be patient. 👍

I hope you have a great day! ☺️
