Written for Cinquain Poetry Prompt
where our inspiration is “faith”.
This is my cinquain.

Believe
what eyes can’t see.
Trust in what we hold fast.
Reaching through darkness, finding light.
Be still.
Not blind –
clear-eyed though bruised,
choosing to move forward
when the long road stays wrapped in fog –
we walk.
Preachers
breaking their vows –
politicians betray,
tripping over their promises.
Stay firm.
Faith lives –
by the rising
after we have fallen,
the will to float when all else sinks.
Endure.
