Written for SenHai Saturday where our
host Susi asks us to write a senryu and
a haiku using the image shown below
as inspiration. This is my take.

⌘ SENRYU ⌘
white houses below
rainbow falls into the sea
and no one looks up
⌘ HAIKU ⌘
rainbow meets the sea
between storm and clearing sky
one cold breath of light

So many fixated on that pot of gold, rather than the beautiful reach in the sky.

I’ll remember these next time I’m down at the beach when a rainbow appears. Lovely.

Nancy, I keep picturing “rainbow falls into the sea” and it feels kind of sad that no one looks up, like something amazing is happening and everyone misses it.
