Written for Reena’s Xploration Challenge
where the theme this week is “peace”.
This is where the prompts took me.

They sit in quiet wonder, small hands still,
Watching war and wing divide the sky
Jets carve the storm, while white doves rise until
The word between them asks the question: Why?
Their crayons wait beside untouched, clean pages,
Their eyes hold questions older than their years
They’ve inherited the weight of wounded ages,
Yet something in them rises, still, past fears.
For peace is not a picture on a screen,
It lives inside the ones who dare to ask
These children are the space that falls between
The thunder and the light, the wound and salve.

I’m thinking of all the little children in the places torn by war right now.
When will we ever learn.

It’s a sad sad story as old as hills; only the weapons are new. When will we learn, indeed! ✌🏼 ❤️

My absolute pleasure, Nancy … for us older folks, it’s quite surreal to see the world going back further into the mire … we have become modernisations “Ugly Generation” 🥰🌏☮️🤔
