Written for RDP where Punam asks us to
get creative with the words “book club”.
Thanks, Punam! Here’s where the prompts took me.

The closest I ever came to being in a book club was during my first pregnancy when I, along with my three sisters-in-law …. who were also pregnant at the same time …. became big time Agatha Christie fans. We would devour her mystery books, all the while sharing our theories on each “whodunit”. Those were great times and that’s when my love of mysteries really took root. It’s been a while since I read Agatha Christie; maybe I’ll dive in to a good mystery this weekend. I have her whole collection to choose from.

I read her many years ago, and found her writing superb. I was never in a book club, but as young folks in our 20s, we would sit around stoned and talk about books we had read or the meaning of some silly song on an album. Momo is into Michael Connelly, and I lean more toward historical and writers like Amor Towles. Still waiting for that novella, or a book, Nancy.

Your memories of sitting around talking about books sounds comfortable and very familiar, Phil. There’s an interesting topic coming up tomorrow on Song Lyric Sunday; I think you’ll enjoy my contribution.
The closest I will come to a novella is the continuing series I’m currently working on called “Housecalls”. If you’d like to check it out, here’s a link. More than that I cannot promise.

I love Agatha Christie and started collecting her books when I was a teenager. I just read one about a week ago. So good.
Your experience with Christie sounds like fun!
