RDP Wednesday: silken

Written for RDP, where sgeoil asks us
to get creative with the word “silken”.
Thanks, Heather! Here’s where the prompt took me.

This made me crack up immediately.

My GI (Gastrointestinal) doctor is named Scott Silken.

Great name for someone who routinely performs colonoscopies, don’t you think?

Smooth as silk(en)!

      1. In a country with a public health system, in a remote mining town, not everyone understood the concept of a private practice, and they wouldn’t pay their bills. (I always went private when I could afford it, to leave room in the public system for people who couldn’t afford it.)

      1. I used to lead a fourth-grade lunchtime reading and writing workshop at our local school. We set it up for a few kids who were struggling with reading, but mixed in some of the more advanced readers as well so there was no stigma attached to the group. At the end of one of our six-week sessions, one of the kids asked me what my real name was. She thought Mrs. Read was a little joke.
