One of the benefits of resting while recuperating (other than WordPress) is catching up on reading …. and that doesn’t always mean diving into a novel. I’m a trivia nut and I enjoy flipping through my “Did You Know?” books. I saw something today which I’ve read before but it still blew my mind; I wanted to share it with you.
Let this sink in: There are far more stars in the observable universe than grains of sand on all of Earth’s beaches and deserts combined. Astronomers estimate there are roughly 10,000 stars for every single grain of sand on Earth.
What an incredible concept! I can’t help but think how very insignificant we are.

Everything on The Elephant’s Trunk was created by me, unless otherwise indicated. If there’s something you’d like to use, ask me; if I think it’s appropriate, I will usually agree. Thanks for your consideration. NAR©2017-present.

Nw that is huge! We’re definitely insignificant when you think of that! 😉

Yes, there are billions and billions and billions of stars that we know of. And God knows how many more. It’s mind boggling

Since sand dunes exist on Mars, Venus, and Saturn’s moon Titan, there is probably more sand in the universe than there are stars.

Very likely; the trivia book stats were for Earth only.
