One Bad Apple

Written for Esther’s Laughing Along
With A Limerick
. The prompt word
is ‘apple’ and this is my limerick.

A teacher named Timothy Glass
Kept an apple to show to his class
But it sat there so long
That the smell got quite strong
Now the kids wear a heavy gas mask!

  1. An apple rots in days to weeks depending on storage: room temp (5-7 days), pantry (up to 3 weeks), or fridge (4-6 weeks), but once cut, only 3-5 days; full decomposition (mold, mushy spots) starts quickly, especially with bruises, and while it might last months in cold storage, it’s best eaten fresh.
