Beneath the thaw,
green spikes pierce winter’s veil.
Each flower bows its head,
a silent bell ringing in
the season.
Dormant earth remembers how
to wake,
how to offer tender witness;
proof that cold cannot
last forever,
that buried things will always
rise again.
