Today at RDP, sgeoil asks us to get creative
with the word ‘yield’. Thanks, Heather!
I found this poem in a box of mementos;
it was written by me in 1965.
The last stanza was written just now.

I Surrender – a poem by me from 1965
Shakespeare once said
“To thine own self be true”,
and the voice in my head
replied “This I can do”.
But I found instead
I am lost and I’m blue
and I’d rather be dead
than to live without you.
Darling, open your arms
and hold me so tight.
I will yield to your charms
all through the night.

In 1965? No, we met in ’68. It was probably for George Harrison! 😂🤣

My pleasure, Heather. My husband found the box in the attic; I’d forgotten it was there. It really was an incredible find. Thanks for another great word prompt.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it was something I wrote to George Harrison! Thanks so much, Ange.
