Today at RDP, drkottaway asks us
to get creative with the word ‘blink’.
Thanks, Doc! Here’s my take.

In Sepia
In amber light and shadows soft,
Two souls entwined, suspended, lost
Where golden dust through windows drifts
And time itself becomes a gift.
Your breath against my temple, warm,
Two hearts that weather any storm,
In sepia tones our love is cast,
A photograph that’s meant to last.

Thanks, Jodi. Guilty as charged; I’m a true romantic and can barely remember a time when I wasn’t in love.

Yes, there’s a lovely combination of feelings … romantic, nostalgic, and a bit of melancholy. MCC did a lovely version of that beautiful song. Thank you, dear Keith.

Thanks very much for your lovely comments, Penn. I love the look of sepia and the way it makes me feel …. nostalgic, melancholy and romantic all at the same time. If there isn’t a word for that feeling, someone should create one! I’m delighted to know you enjoyed my poem and the beautiful version of this classic John Lennon song. 🤎

I’ve been sitting, Nancy, …just trying to think up a word covering all those feelings,…then I gave up and Googled, the AI came up with a Portuguese word Saudade, (doesn’t fit all criteria tho’ but ‘tis the closest I can find …😉) …💙🤗
