Written for Esther’s Laughing Along
With A Limerick #255. The prompt
word is ‘dust’. This is my limerick.

In an old graveyard, haunted by fright
Dancing skeletons come out at night
Their bones made a clatter
Clouds of dust they did scatter
In the moonlight it was the grooviest sight

Who doesn’t want to watch a skeleton dance, especially with this groundbreaking synchronized sound, innovative animation, and playful use of macabre themes. It wouldn’t be Halloween without this, Nance.

A cherished cartoon which I remember from my childhood. Disney was a visionary and obviously had some talented and gifted people working for him. I’m glad you enjoyed it, Jim; it was a pleasure to feature it.

There was nothing particularly cute and cuddly about the early Disney cartoons, was there?

No, but they are genius and they definitely held up all this time. Thanks,s John.
