Cinquain, Poem

Tea And AARP

Written for Cinquain Poetry Prompt #21.
Our inspiration word is “pain”. I have
 written a Mirror Cinquain, a 10-line,
single stanza poem with a syllable pattern
of 2 – 4 – 6 – 8 – 2 – 2 – 8 – 6 – 4 – 2.

His bones
go creak and crack
with each joint and muscle
screaming at him in the morning.
Bad knees.
Stiff back.
Getting old ain’t his cup of tea.
From agile to fragile,
too pooped to pop!
Pain sucks!

  1. Truth in your poetry for sure! I saw lots of skeletons in yards this morning on the way to my Dr. appointment. Got my flu shot, and now my arm is sore, along with my wonky knee. haha 🙂 Love the song. Hadn’t heard it in a long time.

  2. Loved the verse Nancy made me smile – in sympathy as I have a dodgy knee! Thanks for the music clip, although I’ve heard the song before never seen the boys singing – beautiful and great harmonies ❤️
