Elliot had tonight planned perfectly. After weeks of watching June at the library, he knew her schedule, her routine and her personality.

He broke into June’s apartment and was waiting for her in the bedroom, sitting in the corner in the dark when she walked in. She turned on the light, saw him and screamed, just like all the others.

June struggled like a scared little rabbit caught in a bear trap but she couldn’t escape Elliot. When he duct taped her to the bed posts, the fear in her eyes almost got to him … almost. He was going to have fun with this one, making the pain last as long as he could before watching her die.

When it was over, Elliot cleaned up in the bathroom and made an entry in his little black book … “#17 – June, the librarian. She fought like a wild cat. I didn’t think she had it in her.”

  1. Terrifying character and scary scene, writer Nancy. A cautionary tale, too. Be aware! Love the Talking Heads. 🎶 Will probably think of your story whenever I hear this song… A compliment to your engaging writing. ✍🏼

    1. Thank you, Michele. It really is a terrifying story, made so much more real because it happens in towns just like ours to women just like you and me. This is the act of a violent and sick mind, possibly someone we know and trust. It’s unimaginable, isn’t it? Thanks for your ever gracious comments. They are always greatly appreciated. ☺️
