Big Day

David stood at the entrance to the chapel, heart racing; it was a big day for him and Abby. How had they come this far so fast?

The chapel doors swung open and Abby appeared, looking radiant. With each step, her silver-white wedding gown shimmered, hugging her figure perfectly. Her veil cascaded down her back like a silken waterfall.

Now they stood facing each other, their love obvious to all. Raising Abby’s hands to his lips, David softly kissed them. “You ready, honey?” His eyes brimmed with tears; Abby gently brushed them away as she whispered “I love you, Daddy”.

  1. Such a beauitful moment you let us feel there – and the song was sweet and a bit sad (in a good way)- but all of this was also good timing for the upcoming Father’s Day holiday

  2. I didn’t ask my daughter if she was ready before walking her down the aisle. Instead I said, “Are you sure you wanna marry this schlub? It’s not too late to call it off.”

Four years later they got divored..
