Marianne, a 45-year-old suburban mom, decided it was time to shake off her mundane routine. With a little encouragement from her free-spirited teenage daughter, she agreed to try LSD.

As the colors of her living room morphed into a vibrant psychedelic wonderland, she found herself caught up in a conspiracy theory with her houseplants who were plotting world domination.

Midway through a frenzied lambada with her vacuum, Marianne screamed “Oh shit! I forgot the oven!” She dashed to the kitchen, but instead of a mess, she found her lasagna had transformed into a bubbling masterpiece, just like her newfound perspective.

  1. What a hilarious story. A trip from reality is often tempting. Those days of tripping are long over for me, and I am thankful I made it through them unscathed. Too many bad decisions that seemed good at the time. 🙂

    1. I hear ya, Brenda. We had great fun back then but there were some close calls. I’ve led a full life with no regrets and I’m grateful for every day. Now when I tell my grandkids I saw Black Sabbath they think Grammy is very cool. And they’re right; Grammy IS very cool. Great comment, Brenda! Thanks!

  2. I cannot even imagine tripping for the first time at that old. Personally I had to quit tripping by the time I was 18, because I was having too many trips that sent me on dangerous missions! Excellent write!

  3. Pro-tip #1: do not take LSD midway through making lasagna. Your story had me laughing. Favorite part:

she found herself caught up in a conspiracy theory with her houseplants who were plotting world domination

Truly surreal story that meshes perfectly with the image, Nancy.
