Apologies if you are not hearing from me personally. I am having problems commenting on many blogger’s posts. I’m sure I’m not alone in this as other’s have remarked similarly. This is a real inconvenience and I’m sorry. I hope it gets rectified quickly. If you can, leave a comment. If I am allowed to respond, I will. I feel like I’m in that movie, Marooned! π
Nancy
Same. So frustrating to compose a comment only to have it say, error. Will this one go through……

Tiffany, I badgered the crap out of WP! π My comments are working now; I hope yours are up and running as well.

Oh no! We can’t have you feeling that way! Glitchy comments. π

It seems I’m in good company as quite a few people are also experiencing these WP glitches. Most frustrating. π

I’ve been having problems too Nancy. I pick up a post from a pingback, then go to comment and the screen just stalls. Then when I try to reset it, it asks if I want to leave the page! If I go through the reader, I;m usually OK. I wish they’d leave things alone!

Right? Some of the same things have happened to me, too. It’s very frustrating!

It really is, Esther. You’d think WordPress would at least acknowledge the issue. I notified them and have not gotten a response.

Iβve been finding this too, for the past couple of days. I can read posts perfectly well on the web as usual, but when I try to comment the screen just stares blankly at me. But I have found a workaround: go to the Reader, which is where I am now, and Iβm allowed to comment.
Weird, or what?

Great info, Clive! I’ll try that. I’ve been keeping a list of people whose posts I cannot comment on so I can check back periodically and see if there’s any change. I’ve contacted WordPress but, of course, haven’t gotten an answer. The least they could do is acknowledge the problem. One of the things we value is the ability to communicate with fellow bloggers. WP needs to fix the things that are broken and stop making unnecessary and unwanted changes to their format. This is unacceptable.

I sometimes think they employ people whose sole job is to complicate something which should be very simple! Completely agree with you on this.

I’ve been needing to check my comment section under my admin dropdown to find some folks’ comments & respond (no notifications of any kind!). Growing pains? But what is WP growing?

They’re growing resentment! One of the most important features of WordPress is the ability to communicate with fellow bloggers. Whatever is going on is unacceptable. The least they could do is address the problem and let us know they’re working on it.
Do you opt out of receiving email notifications and only read comments on your dashboard?

I do the email notifications, but there are times–from non-WP platforms–when they don’t come through there, either. Grrrr!

This shouldn’t happen on a social platform where comments between friends are so important.

Good morning Nancy. The video has no sound but fits perfectly if your comments aren’t working. Maybe it should be Sounds of Silence by Paul and Art. π
