Pull Up A Chair

Nancy's Notes 🖊️🎶

Written for Ovi Poetry Challenge #78.
This week’s inspiration word is
“temptation”. This is my ovi.

The holiday season is here
Times of fun and good cheer
With friends and family dear
Let’s prepare our menu

I want to take a look
For something new to cook
Let’s check the cooking book
It all sounds so delicious!

This appetizer looks fine
Grilled shrimp with lemon and lime
And served with a nice white wine
Maybe one with bubbles

Main course is beef, grain fed
With a lovely dry wine of red
That will go right to my head
I can always take a nap

Time now for something sweet
A very special treat
That will knock them off their feet
Who doesn’t love dessert?

Temptation is everywhere!
But does anyone really care?
Come on! Pull up a chair!
Next week we’ll start our diet!
