Want To Watch A Movie?

Here’s a flick we hadn’t seen in a while. We watched it again last night and remembered why we enjoy it so much. If you’re looking for something that’s very funny with just a touch of sentimentality, then this one is a good choice for you. It’s a no-brainer; sit back and be entertained by Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds and Betty White in “The Proposal”.
This is the premise: When up tight New York editor Margaret faces deportation, she convinces her assistant Andrew to marry her in return for a promotion. However, when she visits his hometown, it changes her in many ways. Here’s a clip:

I’ll save you a seat. Enjoy the movie! 🎥 🍿 🥤

          1. 😉

So… outside of the real good stuff like “The Holiday” with Cameron Diaz & Kate Winslet or “Last Holiday” with Queen Latifah, I have been guilty pleasuring on the Hallmark shit.
Last night, I watched The Merry Gentlemen – was okay… Last week was Our Little Secret (I admit to liking Lindsay Lohan and last year saw Falling for Christmas. I<ve also seen Holidate, A Castle for Christmas (Brookd Shields & Cary Elwes). Honestly, some decent actors partake in these!! Oh! And this weekend, I saw Bad Moms Christmas – jeez… talk about a great cast!!

Tonight? Silent Night with Keira Knightley & Mathew Goode 😀

            1. A couple years ago I was feeling very sorry for myself. I had a sinus infection with terrible headache and I was bummed about being sick for Christmas. I binged on Hallmark movies. They were sweet and had good story lines with very good casts. They were also incredibly interchangeable. but I didn’t care. They kept me company at a time when know one wanted to be around me. Hallmark can be quite saccharine at times but its good entertainment.

              1. I get it. I used to scoff at them. Why? You get what you paid for almost every single time. They are completely interchangeable and so what? I’ve decided to embrace my inner romantic and just enjoy them. Last night was not what I was expecting, though! As the Google says: Silent Night is a 2021 British apocalyptic black comedy film. Still, quite good!

                1. Well, that ‘Silent Night’ sounds interesting. I also like the murder mysteries which center around a baker who’s a wannabe sleuth and is dating a detective. They’re pretty good stories.

I just don’t get much enjoyment out of watching a movie and I know after just 5 minutes who did it or how it’s going to end. If it’s well done, like ‘The Proposal’, I can get over that and just enjoy the movie but some are just too easily predictable and usually put me to sleep.

                  1. It was! Funny, poignant, disturbing.
Oh, I don’t know that series!

No, for sure. Mind you, when you don’t want to think and just enjoy it for what it is… I can stand it.

  1. Not heard of this one. The problem for me is Ryan Reynolds: ever since he bought a football team here and hyped up the media coverage beyond all bearable limits I can’t stand to see him in his real job 🤣
