Poem, Quadrille

On Bended Knee

Lillian, tonight’s Pub Master, is hosting Quadrille Monday
at the dVerse Poets Pub. We’re asked to create a 44-word
poem using the word β€œfigment”. Here’s my poem.

She knelt
down on
bended
knee

Heard a
voice say
β€œCome to me”

It’s just a
figment,
this can’t be

A voice that
sounded
just like he

β€œI think
 I will count
to three

Then of his
ghost
I will be
free

One, two….”

    1. Thank you, WritingPresence, for stopping by and checking out my poem and leaving one of your own!

I wonder …. did she chicken out or did a ghostly force prevent her from getting to three?

      Appreciate your wonderful comments! TY!

    1. I tried twice to comment on your poem; WP wouldn’t let me. You will either get no comment or two comments! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I thought your poem was delightful with a beautiful message. What a wonderful place this would be if we all behaved as you described in your poem. Lovely, Ali.
