Lou Reed died just over a decade ago, but his influence on the world of Rock & Roll remains undimmed. The life and work of the Velvet Underground‘s main man and solo superstar has been celebrated in the new covers album,Β The Power of the Heart: A Tribute to Lou Reed. Keith Richards has released an excellent B&W video of the Velvet Undergroundβs classic βIβm Waiting For The Manβ in honor of what would have been Louβs 82nd birthday on March 2.
Letβs listen to Lou Reed performing βIβm Waiting For The Manβ. Gotta love Louβs intro.
And hereβs Keithβs new cover of βIβm Waiting For The Manβ
Damn! I love music!
See you on the flip side. π

I have a lot of Lou Reed on vinyl and play them often. Nothing better than to sit back close my eyes and jam with the man. Thanx for a great twofer.

Hard to believe that it’s been over 10 years since Lou Reed’s passing. He wrote some real classic songs

Two great versions of a classic rock song. If anyone could sing it and know what it was about, it was Keef!

Keef is so cool.

Have you read his autobio, Life? It’s fascinating.

He probably is! I have that on my TBR list – bought it on Kindle a while back but havenβt got round to it, along with quite a lot of others.

I have plenty of time on my hands but tend to spend it in front of a screen!

You’re fortunate! I’d love to have more free time but, as my piano teacher sagely informed me years ago when I told her I didn’t have time to practice – “You have all there is”.

Two songs combine for a reply:
We Have All The Time In The World (Louis Armstrong)
The World Is What You Make It (Paul Brady)

That song hasβa great riff anyway, but Keith just gives it such a cool edge as well. He almost makes it funky. Damn! π

Funky. Yeah, I hear it. It’s a bitchin’ cover!
Thanks Cee Tee.
