Welcome to Birthday Thursdays! Each week I will feature someone from the world of music whose birthday falls on this day. There won’t be any chit chat from me, no facts and figures – just some great tunes (and an occasional surprise). Check it out right here every Thursday and enjoy the music.

Well, I’ve learned something today! I had no idea these were ‘dubbings’, especially Tonight from West Side Story, a film I still watch now and again!

We never think about it because it’s done so well.
Not like the old Godzilla movies where the dubbing was so obvious! 🦖

The original “I Could Have Danced All Night” with Audrey Hepburn’s vocal is out on YouTube, and I actually think she did a pretty good job of it.

Oh man! I wish we still made those wonderful musicals! I want Debra Kerr’s dress, but only if I’m dancing like that!
What is amazing is that the voices are so believable, and different, for each of the very different actors.

Oh, sister! I hear you and agree whole-heartedly! Wouldn’t you just love to dance with Yul Brynner? I love that movie and he’s marvelous in it.
Marni Nixon was a wonder, such an incredible talent. I thought her interview was very interesting.
