Today at dVerse Quadrille we are asked
to wrote a 44-word poem using the word “touch”.

He cried out,
fingers
instantly blistering,
the tender skin
red and peeling
like
a
scalded
tomato.
Whimpering pitifully,
he went in search
of his
mother,
hoping for
a
gentle
touch.
“Foolish boy.
You were
warned
not to
touch;
now you must
pay
the
price.”

Say one thing and they do the other. We’ve probably all been there at some time or another.

Mean Mom! Of course, I have a sister who would IMMEDIATELY touch something my mother told her not to… just to see why… 😉

And I bet she never touched the same thing twice!

My dad might have said something like that to me if I did wrong, but not my mother.

Most mother’s aren’t wired that way, thank goodness.

I winced on your first stanza (ow!), and then smiled as the Stones song.

Oh!
It reminded me of my grandmother telling my brother not to pick at his scab. He didn’t listen, and she was not very nice about it!

I actually found it difficult to hit the Like button because that poor little guy needs his mum’s love right now.

But you were able to get beyond your gut reaction because you know I don’t think it’s ever ok to behave this way and it’s just a poem.
No one in their right mind could be cheering on this type of heartless woman.
